Sustainable Me + You

Support environmental education for families and help create the next generation of green champions! Sustainable Me Pop-ups are kid-focused educational fairs, featuring fun+healthy+green activities, popping up within larger community events to meet people where they already gather. Working with our partners, Sustainable Me provides activity booths highlighting ways for youth and families to become leaders in sustainability in their homes, schools, and communities while living healthy and green.

 Sustainable Me aims to:

  • Raise awareness and sensitivity to the environment by making green know-how more accessible
  • Promote knowledge and understanding of the environment in relation to everyday actions
  • Increase attitudes of concern for the environment
  • Develop skills to identify and help resolve environmental challenges

We had great fun popping up at Open Streets Minneapolis: Nicollet  on September 18. Watch for recaps and photos coming soon! Sponsored by Marvin Windows and Doors. Featuring activity partners:

  • Explore the great outdoors with Wilderness Inquiry
  • Examine the life cycle and ingenuity of trees with Tree Trust
  • Learn about air quality and your health with MN Department of Health
  • Race to recyle with Kids for Conservation
  • Become a scientist with Belwin Outdoor Science
  • Complete your Observation Journal for a chance to win a Family 4-pack to the Science Museum+Omnitheater
(donated by the Science Museum of Minnesota)

Open Streets Minneapolis brings together community groups and local businesses to temporarily close major thoroughfares to car traffic, and open them up for people walking, biking, skating, and playing.
